Hello Readers!!
Though the idea occurred to me only now, I should have written a blog post on this subject earlier. Alright, so the situation is that I am reading Owen O’Kane’s book “How to become your own therapist” for the second time. This self-therapy book is very incredible. Have you ever read it before? Please leave a comment below.
I won’t go into detail about self therapy here, but the author has revealed his life narrative in his own words and offered advice on how to apply the principles of self therapy to achieve more.
Last week, I spent a lot of time reflecting on what I discovered within this book. Tuesday morning, following the long weekend of Labor Day, I was heading to work at 8:00 a.m. while sitting in front of the window on the right side and staring outdoors when I suddenly became aware of the idea of self therapy. Since I’ve been reading this book for five years, I’ve already used a few of the concepts I’ve learnt. However, another idea that emerged was a metamorphosis. In other words, how reading may truly change your life and you will become more interested if you read a book with all of your heart.

It’s been 8 years since I am reading a self-help books, I am going to share 5 shifts that will change your mindset while reading a book –
- Reading makes you think about “Your Actual Skill”—everyone has a unique skill that sets them apart from others. Reading enables you to assess your own abilities, which you then need to improve. When you work on it, you’ll discover that you’re capable of doing new things, writing, using Google to locate more relevant topics to work on, and that you have a greater possibility of developing than others who aren’t. It can truly inspire introspection and assist you in identifying your areas of strength, skill, and knowledge.
- Reading eases the stress of a busy lifestyle – Alright, so you work from Monday through Friday in the office, drop your children off at school, do housework, cook, and so on. You are aware of how hectic life can be and how quickly each day goes by, leaving little time for introspection. Thus, even just reading for ten to fifteen minutes a day would help you lead a better lifestyle. When you picture yourself in a book chapter, a simple mental process will occur to you, bringing you tranquility. You won’t feel agitated. Reading also improves cognitive function, which can help with problem-solving and decision-making in a hectic life.
- Reading builds inner confidence – As you read above, developing your skills is the key to boosting your self-assurance. That not only makes you stand out but also boosts your self-assurance. Your outward growth will be aided by that inner confidence as well. Learning new concepts and viewpoints raises your self-confidence and gives you a sense of readiness and capability. Reading can help you develop a sense of competence and confidence in your decision-making and ability.
- Reading relax your mind – The most important thing is to read to relax your mind. Reading can help you relax by giving you a concentrated way to block out stress and other distractions. Set aside 30 minutes every day to read in peace and quiet—that is, without a laptop, TV, or cell phone—with a physical book. Take notes on everything you read, then pay attention. It draws your focus, assisting you in letting go of tense thoughts and encouraging calm.
- Reading strengthens the brain – Elderly people who do mental exercises like regular reading are 32% less likely to experience mental decline. In fact, a lifetime of reading can decrease a person’s chances of developing brain activities carefully. So, it sharpens your brain by analyzing what is right and best for your future. Reading strengthens the brain by stimulating neural connections and enhancing cognitive function. It improves focus, memory, and comprehension, while also increasing mental agility.
